Sunflower production at Macedonian fields reduced tenfold over years
Sunflower fields throughout the country are a rarity. Within three decades, the production of sunflower in the Macedonian fields has been reduced tenfold. The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University "Goce Delchev" -Shtip, Ljupcho Mihajlov says that, according to the data provided by the State Statistical Office, the biggest record of sown areas was in 1989, when 46,000 hectares were covered under this crop, and in 2014 only 4,000 hectares.
