Realistic chance of Skopje, Sofia reaching agreement; Bulgaria sending encouraging signals, Predan tells MIA

The EU remains optimistic the Bulgarian blockade would be lifted by year-end, although not much time remains until Dec. 14, when the General Affairs Council will decide whether to start negotiations with North Macedonia, Slovenian Ambassador Milan Predan told MIA in an interview. “It’s still realistic to expect we could at least prepare the ground for the agreement, which might be taken also in January. You have waited so long so I think it will not be a tragedy to wait another few weeks,” he said.
