N. Macedonia has failed to take Istanbul Convention implementation seriously, especially in times of crisis

The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence, better known as the Istanbul Convention, was adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in April 2011, and it was opened for signatures in May that same year. The Convention is considered a golden standard in the international efforts to protect women from violence, as well as representing a regional legal instrument for all-encompassing protection of women’s rights.
