Rome, 3 September 2021 (dpa/MIA) — AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Serie A side said on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Frenchman is fine, but is in domestic quarantine.
Milan said the 2018 world champion had not been in contact with the rest of the team since the last league match.
Giroud joined the Rossoneri from English club Chelsea in the transfer window and scored for the first time for his new club in a 4-1 home win over Cagliari last weekend, netting twice.
Stefano Pioli’s side started the season with two wins and sit in fourth place. They face Lazio at home on September 12 after the international break.
