Tehran, 21 April 2022 (dpa/MIA) – Iran has arrested three suspected spies for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service, the Iranian news agency Fars reported Thursday.
The three suspects were arrested in Zahedan in south-eastern Iran, the city secret service office told Fars.
They are said to have forwarded secret documents to the Israeli secret service.
Their nationality was not mentioned in the Fars report, so they are most likely Iranian.
Israel has been considered Iran’s arch-enemy since the Islamic revolution 43 years ago.
There have been many reports over the years of Iranians who allegedly worked for the Mossad or the CIA having been detained, arrested or executed.
The Iranian claims cannot usually be independently verified, as both the arrests and trials are kept secret.
