Fukuyama: Bulgarian claims on North Macedonia similar to that of Russia on Ukraine
A larger country wants to deny North Macedonia’s right to frame its own national identity in a way that it is different and has a different historical narrative from the one of Bulgaria, and that is really the same thing that the Russians are claiming with regard to Ukraine, says Francis Fukuyama, American political scientist and author of The End of History and the Last Man.
