EU top officials extend condolences over fatal bus accident

Presidents of the European Parliament, Council and European Commission have extended their condolences over the bus accident in Bulgaria that claimed 46 lives.

Brussels, 23 November 2021 (MIA) – Presidents of the European Parliament, Council and European Commission have extended their condolences over the bus accident in Bulgaria that claimed 46 lives.

“Terrible to hear that at least 45 people, among them a dozen children, died in a bus accident in Bulgaria last night. Our sincere condolences and much strength to their families and friends. We stand with Bulgaria and North Macedonia on this tragic day,” tweets EP President David Sassoli.

EC President Ursula von der Leyen also expresses her deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who perished in the tragic bus accident and wishes the injured a fast recovery.

“In these terrible times, Europe stands in solidarity with you,” says von der Leyen.

Council President Charles Michel says EU is ready to provide support in any way it can.

“Our thoughts are with the victims from the horrific accident in Bulgaria, their families, and all the frontline workers. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery. Stay strong,” tweets Michel.

In addition, EU High Representative Josep Borrell extends condolences over the bus accident victims.

“Our thoughts are with their families, and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” notes Borrell.
