Despite tense situation in Ukraine, Zelensky travels to Munich

Despite fears of war in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky is travelling to the Security Conference in Munich.

Kyiv, 19 February 2022 (dpa/MIA) — Despite fears of war in Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky is travelling to the Security Conference in Munich.

Meetings with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US Vice President Kamala Harris are planned, his office announced on Saturday.

However, he is set to return to Kyiv on Saturday.

The day before, US President Joe Biden had advised Zelensky against the trip because of an acute danger of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.
