Bitola National Theater wins best play award at Prilep festival

“They Shoot Horses, Don't They?”, a play staged by the Bitola National Theater, was named best production as a whole at the 55th Vojdan Chernodrinski Theater Festival in Prilep. The play’s director Martin Kochovski won the best director award.

Prilep, 8 October 2021 (MIA) – “They Shoot Horses, Don’t They?”, a play staged by the Bitola National Theater, was named best production as a whole at the 55th Vojdan Chernodrinski Theater Festival in Prilep. The play’s director Martin Kochovski won the best director award.

“My Husband”, produced by the Skopje Drama Theater, was also recognized for its artistic direction.

The award for best leading actor went to Jordan Simonov for his role in “My Term” of the Macedonian National Theater. The best leading actress is Natalija Teodosieva for her performance in “My Husband”, according to the three-member jury.

Best supporting actor is Goran Stojanovski, who stars as Silvester in “Cry for Love” of the Ohrid National Theater, while Gentijana Ramadani by the jury was named best supporting actress for starring as Ina in “Murlin Murlo” of the Albanian National Theater.

Also, actress Sabina Memishi and actor Isidor Jovanoski won the awards for best young artists.

The jury also awarded prizes for best adaptation, best set design and best costume design.

The awards will be presented Friday at the Prilep National Theater at a closing ceremony of the 55th Vojdan Chernodrisnki Macedonian National Theater.
